A brief historical look at : Kyosho were one of the very first manufacturers to enter the R/C car market - WELL before Tamiya. The Kyosho company was formed in 1963 - mainly composed of engineering enthusiasts, with a passion for all things radio controlled. All aspects of R/C modeling were covered by Kyosho (mainly boats, aircraft etc). It was not until they released their first production R/C car in 1970, called the "DASH", that the R/C car world was exposed to Kyosho quality. The "DASH" was a 1/8th scale car. Powered by a 3cc internal combustion engine, the DASH ignited enthusiasm for R/C cars in Japan and also the rest of the world. It even had a centrifugal clutch - and disc brake........these were considered amazing achievements at the time for a production vehicle. This "technology and engineering" prowess set a precedent for Kyosho, with enthusiasts all over the world enjoying the engineering and technical approach of the company. Kyosho never really appeared to work very hard at marketing etc. They relied more on their ability to produce world class products, and put them at the coal face of competition. This approach to design and function has always been paramount over the years. Suffice to say - Kyosho is one of the World leaders in racing technology, especially in 1/8th scale buggies, where they have retained the World Title crown for over 10 years in a row! Having said that - Kyosho also attempts to cater to the "novice" market as well, however it has to be said that they are far better at producing "High End" products. This is a small introduction to Kyosho by a big fan of their product. I have raced their products competitively - and also enjoyed them just for fun.......their approach to R/C cars has won my loyalty.
This is my current collection of KYOSHO NIB kits. They are NOT for sale. Here, you will find some of my current collection of my most favorite manufacturer - KYOSHO. There are quite a few very rare, vintage R/C buggies here - especially the stunning "GOLD EDITION" Optima. I have managed to acquire ALL of the chain drive 1/10th scale competition electric buggies from Kyosho. These include : Progress, Gallop and Gallop MKII. You will see the entire Optima chain drive series : The Optima, Javelin, Turbo Optima, Optima Pro - as well as the final "Salute". I am also a huge fan of the Kyosho 2wd series - so therefore you will find some of the all time clssic competition buggies like the Tomahawh, Scorpion and Turbo Scorpion. Also you will see the original world titles winning Ultima , Turbo Ultima and others. Keep an eye out for more Kysoho classics to appear soon in my collection.
